- Criteria: BSN students in good academic standing with financial need.
- Amount:
Determined by earnings of the endowment.
Dichoso, Helen Jimenez RN Scholarship
- Criteria: Must be currently enrolled and be in good standing (3.0 GPA or above),
Demonstrate financial need, maintain an acceptable grade point average each semester,
and remain enrolled, full or part time, each consecutive semester until the desired
degree is obtained.
- Amount: Scholarship Amount ranges from $1,000 - $2,000, or funds available.
PhD Dissertation Research Scholarship/ Cinda Heist Clark Scholarship
- Criteria: Must be a PhD student who is qualified to begin work on a dissertation.
Grant money is to be applied to start up funds for research.
- Amount: Usually $500 per student or funds available.
Dunn, John S. Nursing Scholars Program – Endowment
- Criteria: All students are eligible, and the award is given to 2 high academic standing
students.
- Amount: Funds available for 2 students, disbursed during semesters of study.
Fuld, Helene – Endowment
- Criteria: Incoming undergraduate that is in good academic standing and has financial
need.
- Amount: Funds available.
Frutiger, Marian – Gerontology Endowment
- Criteria: Student involved in gerontology that is in good academic standing and
has financial need.

George Foundation Scholarship
- Criteria: Must reside in Fort Bend County, have a minimum prerequisite of 2.50 on
a 4.0 scale, demonstrate financial need, be a full time student, maintain good academic
standing throughout the nursing program, and never received a George Scholarship
from another educational institution.
- Amount: Scholarship The amount of the award is based on funds available.
Gross, Dawn Memorial Scholarship
- Criteria: GPA of 3.5 or above, Enrolled in 44 level courses, involved in school
activities, and has leadership qualities.
- Amount: Award is based on funds available.
Hearst, William Randolph –Gerontological Nursing Endowment
- Criteria: MSN student enrolled in the gerontology program, in good academic standing,
and in need of financial assistance.
- Amount: Based on funds available.

financial assistance.

Hill, Devon Scholarship
- Criteria: Undergraduate currently enrolled in her/his last year, high academic standing,
and financial need.

Houston Sigma Kappa
- Criteria: Recognize academic excellence; recipients selected on basis of financial
need with preference to gerontology.
- Amount: $1,000 per student and is based on funds available.

- Criteria: Student involved in gerontology that is in good academic standing and
has financial need.

Lesem, Rennie Scholarship – Endowment
- Criteria: Single parent; good academic standing, and in need of financial assistance.
- Amount: Scholarship Amount varies from $500 - $1,000 per student and is based on
funds available.
Nolan, Charles and Sybil – Oncology Nursing Scholarship Endowment
- Criteria: Student enrolled in oncology and has good academic standing.
- Amount: Based on funds available.
Norris, Annie Richardson – RN Scholarship
- Criteria: RN student in good standing in need of financial assistance.
- Amount: Scholarship Amount is $250 per student, per term. Maximum of $750 awarded
each year.
Ornish, Dean – Endowment
- Criteria: Currently enrolled RN or MSN, 3.0 GPA or above, and interested in cardiovascular
research & disease prevention.
- Amount: Based on funds available.
PARTNERS
- Criteria: Currently enrolled student in good academic standing, In need of financial
assistance.
- Amount: Scholarship Amount varies because it covers tuition, fees, books and supplies
per student, per semester. This scholarship is awarded to7 newly enrolled students
in the following programs: RN BSN (1 student), BSN Accelerated (1 student), BSN
Generic (1 student), MSN (1 student), Nurse Anesthesia (1 student), DN (1 student),
and PhD (1 student). The total amount of the scholarship awarded to each student
is based on the estimated cost sheet for full-time students created by the Student
Affairs Office.
Ben Love Endowment
- Criteria: Student that is in good academic standing and has financial need.
- Amount: Funds available
Professional Nurse Traineeship
– Administrated by Academic Affairs
- Criteria: Must meet the grantee institution's full admission requirements for graduate
study, be a United States citizen, non-citizen national, or foreign national who
possesses a visa permitting permanent residence in the United States. Must have
graduated from a State-approved School of Nursing or the equivalent international
institution, and must currently be licensed as a registered/professional nurse in
the state. Must be in good standing (3.0 GPA or above), and demonstrate financial
need. Maintain an acceptable grade point average each semester and be enrolled full
time (9 semester credit hours) in a course of study to include summer semester or
be enrolled part-time during the final 12 months of study. (Courses taken in excess
of degree requirements will not be counted towards full-time enrollment requirement).
- Amount: Scholarship amount pays for tuition and fees and may include a $250 monthly
stipend. Appointed students receive a $250/month stipend for an initial appt. period
of nine months and tuition & fee monies for two semesters (approx. $1,400) during
that time. Traineeship appointments are limited to a lifetime total of 36 months.
Applications are due by JULY 1st.

- Criteria: Given to support students in gerontology, based on need and good academic
standing.

Smith, Vivian Scholarship- Foundation
- Criteria: US citizen, Undergraduate student in good academic standing with financial
need.
- Amount: Usually $1,500 for 5 semesters
School of Nursing General Scholarship (Nursing Student Scholarship Assistance
Fund)
- Criteria: Students who have achieved academic excellence and have financial need.
- Amount: $1,000/ or funds available
Stinnett, Ed and Myrtle – Endowment
- Criteria: Graduate student enrolled in the Emergency Nurse Practitioner Track, Good
academic standing, In need of financial assistance.
- Amount: $1,000 per student/ or funds available.
Waindel, Roseann – Endowment
- Criteria: GPA of at least 3.0, Demonstrate financial need based on autobiography,
Preference given to an outstanding MSN in Emergency Track.
- Amount: Scholarship Amount ranges from $1,000 – $3,000 per student and is based
on funds available.
