The Master of Science in Nursing and Post Master’s Pediatric Nurse Practitioner clinical concentration prepares graduates to provide primary health care to children and young adults. The curriculum focuses on the development of complex assessment, technical, and interpersonal skills. The knowledge required is based on principles of physiology, case management, and advanced clinical decision making.
Students who complete the program are eligible to take the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification examination offered by the American Nurse Credentialing Center or the Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner examination offered by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. Requirements for the degree or certification are outlined in the curriculum overviews. Non-thesis options are available for students seeking a MSN.
